Clinton Ave in April

Weather=Fickle. The huge dark building across the street had a neon cross hanging outside of it when I moved into the neighborhood 4 years ago. In the last year, someone bought it and has hired A. Mallek for renovations. A. Malek is a confusing local business in the Fort Greene/Clinton Hill area. If there is a brownstone in complete dis-repair, A. Malek will be there, install a bunch of rickety scaffolding and will proceed to let the building descend into absolute ruin. Somehow, they seem to have the monopoly on construction in the area while their construction seems to involve little more than covering run-down buildings in run-down scaffolding and letting them stew for 1-3 years. . I am sure that this has not gone unnoticed by Brownstoner and other safety-minded watchdog-like neighborhood groups so, I should probably keep my stupid opinions to myself.

The bright side of the road!

Monsignor McGolrick Park, Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I stole this little boy and now he lives with me in my apartment. We are best friends. I don't want this blog to have too many religious undertones but I just have to say, "Thank You, Monsignor."
